Today we had a pleasure of attending the annual “Payment and Fraud 360” event in Tel Aviv led by Kount and Bluesnap. The event was held in Dubnov Gallery and was attended by many of our colleagues and clients, it also provided opportunity to meet new people in the industry and those interested to broaden their knowledge in the areas of online payments and fraud prevention.
“Payment and Fraud 360” addresses the most pressing issues in online payments and fraud in today’s reality.
In the first session, Ralph Dangelmaier, CEO at Bluesnap, addressed new developments in payments technology such as the migration to mobile wallets and overall urgency for e-commerce merchants to support mobile friendly payments pages as mobile traffic almost doubles year-on-year. Ralf also discussed the importance of payments localization mentioning that more and more merchants realise the importance of payment methods customized for particular markets and user habits. In addition, over half of merchants in the discussed research adopted processing with multiple acquirers which allow to improve approval ratios for the growing international traffic.
In the second session of the event, Brad Wiskirchen, CEO at Kount, discussed the importance of “real intelligence” approach in fraud prevention. “Real intelligence” combines powerful artificial intelligence tools that are able to cluster and process huge chunks of data with human analysis that adds the experience and deep understanding of business models. Brad discussed the multiplayer fraud-prevention model that allows merchants to monitor their traffic throughout its life-cycle and identify harmful behavior patterns. According to Brad, fraudsters are spreading across the globe and developing new tools to steal from online merchants. That is why it is crucial for merchants to develop adaptive approach and constantly monitor their traffic.
